Rhodium is one of the member of the platinum metals group.It is a hard durable metallike palladium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. When jewellery plated with Rhodium, it can 1) resistance to oxidation under very extreme environmental conditions 2) eliminate sensitive to nickel and 3) resistance to jewellery discoloring.
Back to 1803, a English chemist William Wollasto find this metal. Sincethis new metalwas in red color when dissolved and he name that base on the Greek word rhodon meaning rose. Nowaday, the primary sources for rhodium are in Russina, Soiuth Africa and Canada.
