The Value Of Good Customer Service.

Let's face it. There are far too little examples of good customer service these days. I know that when I call the gepanies I do business with and have a concern, I usually have to wait for sometimes 20 minutes or better on hold only to be given another number to call or be handed over to a recording to push a bunch of buttons. Sometimes I never even get to talk to a human. Few things irritate me more than poor customer service. We as people value the money that we work hard for and to spend it on gepanies that don't value us in return, can be very discouraging.
That is why I have decided to implement some good customer service skills into my business and share those skills with others.
I thinkthe best thing to do is to think of how we ourselves like to be treated, and then treat others that way.
Some people are afraid to give good feedback until the item has reached the other side. Well I think there are two things that could make things a lot easier for you to leave good feedback as soon as the person on the other end makes payment.
#1. Make sure you are selling only quality items. If you are selling used items, be gepletely honest in your ad.
#2. Make sure your packing and shipping techniques are going to get the item there safely.
These 2 things will insure satifaction on the other end most of the time. Of course we are all going to get a disgruntled person on the other end occasionally, but even they like to be treated fairly. Sometimes it's worth offering them a few dollars off of their original price if they are not happy with the item they receive. But if you just can't seem to get along with them at all, you have already given them good feedback and most of the time they will give you neutral or better since they recieved good from you. If you don't want them as a customer in the future you can block their ID from doing business with you. So don't worry about a repeat offense.
Don't be afraid to leave positive feedback to those who met your criteria of payment quickly. This is one of the best things you can do to get repeat business. Buyer's really appreciate their promptness being appreciated.
Another thing that you can do is contact the buyer with the tracking numbers. This is another very appreciated action. People like to know when to expect their purchase.
Enclose a little note with your shipment, thanking them for the purchase and perhaps offering them some inspiration or a blessing. This shows you went beyond the call of duty and makes people actually feel as though you care!
Give a little gift like a sachet that makes the package smell good. These are very inexpensive to make and people love opening a box that smells good. You can almost insure repeat business with this idea!
Be nice to them, no matter how they treat you. This helps them calm down. Things usually can be resolved when mutual respect is shown.
Take the time to answer their questions before the auction closes. To avoid a lot of questions, be as honest and descriptive as possible.
I hope these ideas help all who read them.
