Most pleasing purchase of 2009?

2009 so far seems to have feautured some very good auctions - on this side of the Pond we've had two country house libraries, a large library of early books from Worcester and almost double the usual number of general book sales in the first half of the year. The Harry and Virginia Walton sale stood astride the Atlantic in Bloomsbury's New York and London branches - with some genuinely unique items sold. It was also the source of our most pleasing acquisition of this year, just arrived this morning, a Morocco solander box containing 45 original pencil drawings by John Leech of illustrations for the hunting novels of Surtees. As a fan of both Leech and Surtees, its going to be a real wrench to sell this! So, what have been your best purchases of this year?
