I heard an interview with William R. Forstchen (author of One Second After) about the effects of an EMP on our microchip world. Apparently, we could be about one second away from a complete collapse of today's infrastructure (and society), without the skills that got us through the Great Depression. Can anyone say "Faraday Cage?" "Need" now means wanting someone else's money. "Greed" means wanting to keep your own.
